India’s oilmeals exports surges 20% in June 2024
Jul-17-2024

The Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) in its report has said that India’s oilmeals exports increased 20% to 3,35,196 tonnes in June 2024 as compared to 2,80,001 tonnes in June 2023. The overall export of oilmeals during April to June 2024 reported at 1,102,632 tonnes compared to 1,210,045 tonnes during the same period of last year i.e. down by 9%, mainly due to reduction in export of rapeseed meal, castorseed meal and no export of De-oiled Rice Bran since September, 2023 due to export prohibition.

De-oiled Ricebran prices now are at the lower level and likely to go down further with increased availability of Dried distillers grains with solubles (DDGS). In view of the above facts and sharp fall in prices of De-oiled Ricebran, the Association has once again appealed to the Government not to extend the prohibition beyond July 31, 2024.

The export of soyabean meal stood at 1,52,351 tonnes in June 2024. Export of rapeseed meal was at 5,23,521 tonnes in same month. The export of Groundnut meal and castorseed meal stood at 3,476 tonnes and 78,776 tonnes respectively in June 2024.
