Crude oil futures end sharply lower on Tuesday

Crude oil futures ended sharply lower on Tuesday as worries about a slowdown in demand fed broad weakness among commodities. Traders remained on sidelines ahead of inventory data for the week ending July 19. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) will release official figures on Wednesday. Besides, Oil prices fell amid weak demand outlook from China and cease-fire attempts in the Middle East. 

Benchmark U.S. crude oil futures for September delivery fell $1.44 or about 1.8% to $76.96 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for September delivery declined $1.39 or 1.7% to $81.01 per barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.
