Copper futures settle higher on Monday

Copper futures settled higher on Monday after US President Donald Trump postponed plans to impose trade tariffs against Canada and Mexico. However, some gains were limited by strong dollar and as Trump’s 10% tariffs against the world’s top metal consumer China are still set to take effect on Tuesday. 

Copper futures for March delivery gained $0.0265 to settle at $4.3055 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.56 percent at $9,099 a ton.
