Feb-19-2025

The Solvent Extractors' Association of India in its report said that export of oilmeals for the month of January 2025 provisionally stood at 452,352 tons compared to 477,580 tons in January 2024 i.e. down by 5%. The overall export of oilmeals during April 2024 to January 2025 reported at 3,603,030 tons compared to 3,974,351 tons during the same period of last year i.e. down by 9%, mainly due to reduction in export of rapeseed meal, castorseed meal.

Exports of soybean meal in January 2025 stood at 286,287 tons. In the first ten months of the current year (April 2024 to January 2025) the overall export of soybean meal revived and increased to 1,771,365 tons compared to 1,586,213 tons of the same period of last year amid higher import by European buyers, such as Germany and France. The export of soybean meal starting from oil year October 2024 to January 2025 stood at 862,565 tons. Rapeseed meal exports reported at 31,641 tons in January Groundnut shipments stood at 2,636 tons, while Castorseed meal exports stood at 31,725 tons in January 2025.

Increase production and supply of Dried Distillers Grain Solids (DDGS) from Maize and Grains damping the demand of oilmeals in local market. Also, for Rapeseed meal, Bangladesh is the major market faced with uncertainty leading to reduction in volume in recent months, which is reflected in overall reduction in export of Rapeseed Meal during last few months.
