Copper futures were trading higher on Monday as weakening US employment data boosted expectations of a US Federal Reserve rate cut this month. Meanwhile, investors are awaiting key US inflation reports later this week that could offer more clarity on the size of the Fed's expected rate cut.

Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0055 or 0.12% at $4.5565 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
