Crude oil futures rise amid middle east tensions

Crude oil futures rose on MCX as speculators enlarged positions following US President Donald Trump’s threat to intensify attacks on Iran if a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is not reached by 8 pm EDT Tuesday. This threat overshadowed signs that the US and Iran may be moving closer to a ceasefire agreement through mediators. 

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 10793.00 up by 1.94% or Rs 205.00 from its previous closing of Rs 10588.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 15544 lots.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 9451.00 up by 1.46% or Rs 136.00 from its previous closing of Rs 9315.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 6840 lots on MCX.
