Jeera futures rise on lower arrivals

Jeera futures rose on NCDEX, supported by decline in arrivals by 23% to 80,716 tonnes across major mandis. Additionally, thin supplies along with weaker production estimates due to lower sowing coverage also fuelled the uptrend. However, weak export performance capped some gains.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 22545.00, up by 1.17% or Rs 260.00 from its previous closing of Rs 22,285.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 4,821 lots.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 22800.00, up by 1.11% or Rs 250.00 from its previous closing of Rs 22,550.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 3,702 lots on NCDEX.
