Copper futures trade bullish after U.S.-Iran ceasefire deal

Copper futures traded bullish on MCX, as global rates soared to three-week high level followed by the diplomatic breakthrough where Iran agreed to a two-week truce with the US and Israel, reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz and reviving global demand hopes. Besides, tight inventory positions coupled with the narrowed supplies from producing belts also fuelled the upward side trend.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 1188.75 up by 2.52% or Rs 29.20 from its previous closing of Rs 1159.55. The open interest of the contract stood at 9193 lots.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 1203.00 up by 2.53% or Rs 29.70 from its previous closing of Rs 1173.30. The open interest of the contract stood at 2302 lots on MCX.
