Turmeric futures trade higher on concerns over crop damage

Turmeric futures traded higher on NCDEX, buoyed by concerns over crop damage on the back of unseasonal rains across Maharashtra. Further, improved export enquires also supported turmeric prices up-move.

The contract for April delivery was trading at Rs 16700.00, higher by 2.96% or Rs 480.00 from its previous closing of Rs 16,220. The open interest of the contract stood at 11,770 lots.

The contract for May delivery was trading at Rs 16702.00, higher by 3.28% or Rs 530.00 from its previous closing of Rs 16,172.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 13,525 lots on NCDEX.
