Crude oil futures ended lower on Wednesday, as upcoming talks between the U.S. and Chinese presidents raised hopes of easing trade tensions and resolving the U.S.-Iran standoff. However, OPEC and the IEA warned of a possible supply-demand mismatch in their latest oil forecast reports.

Benchmark crude oil futures for June delivery declined by $1.14 or 1.16% to settle at $101.02 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for July delivery was down by $2.14 or 1.99% to settle at $105.63 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
