Shiva Cement expands scope of Khatkurbahal mine to commercialise 2.4 MT of dolomite annually
Jul-28-2026

Shiva Cement has received a modified Environmental Clearance and Consent to Operate for its Khatkurbahal (North) Block Limestone and Dolomite Mines at Biringatoli, Kutra, in Sundargarh district, Odisha. This development expands the scope of the mine to include the mining of dolomite at a capacity of 2.4 million tonnes (MT) per annum. This block holds a total dolomite resource of 89.09 MT, of which 48.27 MT is mineable.

The approval enables the company to commercially undertake mining and sale of dolomite from the block, marking the commencement of revenue generation from its dolomite operations. Dolomite is a key input across steel, cement, glass, refractories and allied industries, and the approval opens a new merchant sales stream for the company while strengthening raw material security within the JSW ecosystem.

Shiva Cement is engaged in the business of manufacture and sale of cement, clinker and trading of allied products.
