Copper futures settle higher on Monday
Aug-11-2026
Copper futures settled higher on Monday supported by signs of tightening global supply, constrained mine output and robust demand. Copper prices were also influenced by cautious trading over potential US import tariffs, which continued to redirect metal from international markets into US warehouses. However, some gains were limited by heightened uncertainty over a potential deal between the US and Iran to end the war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Copper futures for September delivery gained $0.025 to settle at $6.6160 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.60% at $14,160 a ton.
