Sep-09-2026

Crude oil futures closed higher on Tuesday as expectations over the Strait of Hormuz reopening faded as U.S. forces and Iran continue to trade attacks. In the Middle East, while the U.S. continues to tighten its naval blockade on Iranian ports, Iran is attempting to seal off the Strait of Hormuz.

Benchmark crude oil futures for October delivery increased by $1.55 or 1.69% to settle at $93.03 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for November delivery gained by $1.64 or 1.70% to settle at $97.92 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
