Copper futures settle down on Tuesday
Sep-30-2026
Copper futures settled down on Tuesday due to concerns over weakening Chinese demand ahead of the country's October 1-7 National Day celebration. Copper prices further pressured by stronger US dollar on mounting expectations that the Federal Reserve will raise interest rates again as soon as October. Although, copper supply concerns have reemerged after workers at Antofagasta’s Centinela site in Chile rejected the company’s final wage offer, paving the way for a strike.

Copper futures for December delivery fell $0.03 to settle at $6.6035 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. However, Copper on the London Metal Exchange was up by 0.18% at $14,438.50 a ton.
