BNP Paribas, Goldman Sachs pare stake in BSE

BNP Paribas and Goldman Sachs have pared their stake in BSE through separate open market deals. BNP Paribas, through its affiliate BNP Paribas Financial Markets, has offloaded around 44.52 lakh shares at an average price of Rs 3,199.54 apiece. Further, Goldman Sachs, through its arm Goldman Sachs Investments Mauritius I, has sold around 23.82 lakh shares at an average price of Rs 3,200.00 apiece. The transactions combined represent 1.7% stake in the company, aggregating to Rs 2,186.44 crore. 

Meanwhile, Nippon India Mutual Fund and UTI Mutual Fund have bought around 25.30 lakh and 27.13 lakh shares, respectively. The shares were bought at an average price of Rs 3,200.00 crore.

BSE owns and operates the BSE exchange platform (formerly, the Bombay Stock Exchange), the first stock exchange in Asia, which was formed on July 9, 1875.
