Copper futures trade higher on supply concerns
Oct-05-2026

Copper futures were trading higher on Monday due to mounting supply concerns after workers at Antofagasta Minerals' Centinela copper site in Chile voted to strike following the failure of wage talks. However, sentiment remained under pressure due to high energy costs from the ongoing US-Iran conflict and weak industrial signs from China.

Copper futures for December delivery gained $0.0245 or 0.37% at $6.5735 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange.
