Copper futures settle down on Friday
Nov-07-2026
Copper futures settled lower on Friday as the recent Republican sweep of Congress weakened expectations for import tariffs and fuelled concerns over stricter regulations on artificial intelligence and data center expansion, while a stronger dollar also made copper more expensive for buyers using other currencies. However, ongoing supply constraints limited the downside.

Copper futures for December delivery fell $0.0325 to settle at $6.2375 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange was down by 0.55% at $13,768 a ton.
