Copper futures end lower on coronavirus fears

Copper futures ended lower on Tuesday due to concerns over the impact of top metal consumer china’s economy following the worsening deadly virus in China. Chinese health authorities confirmed Tuesday that the coronavirus outbreak had infected 4,515 people, with 106 reported deaths.

Copper futures for March delivery fell 0.7 percent to settle at $2.5795 a pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. Copper on the London Metal Exchange ended down 0.7 percent at $5,703 a ton.
