Gold futures posts lowest finish in over 5 weeks on Friday

Gold futures finish near 5 week lower rate on Friday, extending losing streak to third straight session pressured by the stronger dollar followed by the recent upbeat US economic data reports. Participants are also keenly awaiting the Federal Open Market Committee’s two-day policy meeting to be held on September 21 and 22, for more insights on when the Central Bank will start curtailing its asset purchases. The yellow metal for the most active contract posted second consecutive loss for the week, down by 2.3%. 
 
Gold futures for December dipped by 0.3% or $5.30 at 1751.40 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold jumped by 0.6% to $1,803.69 per ounce.
