Rupee strengthens against US dollar on Tuesday
Mar-28-2023
Indian rupee strengthened against the US dollar on Tuesday, tracking weakness in the American currency at overseas markets as bank fears eased. Moreover, the US Fed's current liquidity injection program along with HDFC’s plan to raise Rs 57,000 core through the bond issue ahead of merger with HDFC Bank also supported the rupee in the near term. However, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net sellers in the capital market on Monday as they offloaded shares worth Rs 890.64 crore, exchange data showed.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 82.26, stronger by 5 paise from its previous close of 82.31 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 82.26 and 82.1775 respectively.
