NLC India rises on getting nod to invest Rs 1,630.89 crore in wholly owned subsidiary

NLC India is currently trading at Rs. 226.30, up by 1.30 points or 0.58% from its previous closing of Rs. 225.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 227.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 227.00 and Rs. 224.35 respectively. So far 9026 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 311.65 on 16-Jul-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 185.85 on 17-Feb-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 230.00 and Rs. 221.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 31275.59 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 72.20%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.85% and 5.95% respectively.

NLC India has received in principle approval to invest up to Rs 1,630.89 crore in one or more tranches in its wholly owned subsidiary -- NLC India Renewables (NIRL) by way of subscription of equity shares at face value, for funding the Green Energy Projects to be undertaken by NIRL. The company’s board at its meeting held on July 7, 2025, has approved the same. 

NLC India is a Navratna Government of India Enterprise, under the administrative control of Ministry of Coal. The company is engaged in the business of mining of Lignite, Coal and generation of power by using lignite as well as Renewable Energy Sources and consultancy.
