Oct-13-2025

Indian rupee appreciated against the US dollar on Monday amid fresh foreign fund inflows. Foreign Institutional Investors bought equities worth Rs 459.20 crore on Friday, according to exchange data. Traders got support as Shaktikanta Das, the Principal Secretary-2 to PM Narendra Modi, has said that India is poised to contribute about one-fifth of the world's GDP growth on the back of robust domestic demand and prudent macroeconomic and financial sector policies, which enabled it to withstand ‘external shocks’. Besides, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal hold discussions with his Canadian counterpart Maninder Sidhu on ways to strengthen economic ties between the two countries. On the global front, ringgit slipped against the US dollar at Monday’s close, reflecting renewed strength in the greenback amid lingering trade tensions between the United States and China.

Finally, the rupee ended at 88.68 (Provisional), appreciated by 04 paise from its previous close of 88.72 on Friday. The currency touched a high and low of 88.79 and 88.57 respectively.
