Indian rupee weakens against dollar on Friday
Mar-13-2026

Indian rupee has weakened against the U.S. dollar on Friday as crude oil prices crossed $100 per barrel mark again amid ongoing conflict in West Asia posing risks to global energy supplies. Besides, traders remained cautious as the foreign institutional investors have sold securities worth Rs 7,049.87 crore on Thursday’s session. However, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri’s comment has capped further fall in rupee. He said that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel and kerosene in the country on account of the West Asia crisis. On the global front, the euro has weakened against the U.S. dollar on Friday as the US dollar gained broadly amid escalating tensions in the West Asia.

Finally, the rupee ended at 92.35 (Provisional), weakened by 10 paise from its previous close of 92.25 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 92.47 and 92.25 respectively.
