Rupee shows mild strength against dollar on Tuesday
Aug-04-2026

Indian rupee has shown mild strength against the US dollar on Tuesday, supported by continued foreign capital inflows in Indian markets. Foreign institutional investors were the net buyers of securities worth Rs 922.26 crore on Monday’s session. However, investors remained cautious amid uncertainty over diplomatic solution between the US and Iran after Tehran denied holding direct talks with Washinton and emphasized that the ongoing talks are only between Iran and Oman to ensure safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil shipping route. On the global front, the euro has strengthened against the US dollar on Tuesday after July data showed manufacturing activity in Eurozone improved at the fastest pace since April.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.28 (Provisional), strengthened by 9 paise from its previous close of 95.37 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.42 and 95.25 respectively.
