Rupee weakens against US dollar on Thursday
Sep-10-2026

Indian rupee has weakened against US dollar on Thursday as rising crude oil prices and climbing US Treasury yields sparked fears of inflationary pressure. Brent crude oil prices have crossed the $102 a barrel mark amid escalating West Asia tensions. Further, foreign institutional investors continued their selling spree on Wednesday’s session, offloading securities worth Rs 582.99 crore, which weighed on rupee. Besides, traders awaited the release of key US economic data which could provide clues on interest rate trajectory. On the global front, Japanese yen has strengthened against US dollar on Thursday ahead of Bank of Japan’s monetary policy decision next week.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.48 (Provisional), weakened by 40 paise from its previous close of 95.08 on Wednesday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.48 and 95.15 respectively.
