Sep-15-2026
Asian markets traded in red in early deals on Tuesday, saddled by a sharp tech and semiconductor selloff on Wall Street. Japan’s Nikkei dropped as investors worried that the Bank of Japan might announce its third aggressive interest rate hike in less than 10 months at its policy meeting this Friday.

Nikkei dipped by 53.99 points or 0.09% to 63,439.00 , Straits Times plunged by 58.21 points or 1.02% to 5,659.81, Hang Seng curtailed by 80.60 points or 0.32% to 24,837.00, Jakarta Composite slipped by 48.93 points or 0.75% to 6,485.76, Taiwan weighted declined by 212.99 points or 0.49% to 45,649.53, KOSPI Index shrunk by 65.65 points or 0.98% to 6,618.72, Shanghai Composite decreased by 7.29 points or 0.19% to 3,878.04, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI index declined by 13.07 points or 0.77% to 1,684.94.
