CJP to launch ‘Adivasi School Thik Karo’ campaign from Maharashtra on September 17

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said the party will launch a campaign focused on improving facilities at tribal schools from Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district on September 17. Abhijeet Dipke said that tribal schools in India faced government apathy over the last 80 years. Dipke said that the initiative, titled ‘Adivasi School Thik Karo’, will focus on problems faced by students in tribal regions, including inadequate infrastructure and limited access to educational facilities. He pointed out that the campaign is to draw the government's attention towards the issues, including discrimination faced by tribal students.

Dipke said CJP representatives will inspect tribal schools and highlight issues affecting students. He also raised concerns over schools operating from rented buildings, inadequate facilities and the lack of attention to students in tribal belts. Abhijeet Dipke called for focusing on students and schools in tribal belts, saying they have a lot of potential. He said, ‘The government will have to prioritise the tribal community as it has a very big population. Just claiming a 7.8 GDP growth rate or talking about becoming a $5 trillion economy is not enough’. He also cited concerns over the participation of tribal students in higher education, claiming that Scheduled Tribe students accounted for 22.8% of enrolment in higher education and that only 130 ST applicants had secured admission to IITs.

CJP founder also alleged that more than 590 tribal students had died in Maharashtra over the last two years. He claimed that several deaths were linked to incidents such as snakebites and said the families of deceased students did not always receive adequate compensation.

A month back, the CJP launched the 'School Thik Karo' (Fix the Schools), a nationwide campaign aimed at improving the condition of rural and urban public schools.
