Sep-25-2026

Indian rupee has strengthened against US dollar on Friday as Brent crude oil prices retreated to trade below $105 a barrel mark amid hopes of ease in tensions between United States and Iran. Private reports indicated that the United States and Iran are exploring a phased path to end their conflict, with Iran proposing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in return for the lifting of the US blockade and other economic measures. Further, traders paid no heed towards data indicating foreign institutional investors sold securities worth Rs 5,027.36 crore on Thursday’s session. On the global front, Japanese yen has strengthened against the US dollar on Friday amid rising expectations of intervention as the currency approached the key 160 level.

Finally, the rupee ended at 95.75 (Provisional), strengthened by 24 paise from its previous close of 95.99 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.94 and 95.72 respectively.
