Indian rupee remains unchanged against US dollar on Tuesday
Oct-06-2026

Indian rupee remained unchanged against US dollar on Tuesday. Initially, rupee opened on a stronger note against the dollar as Brent crude oil prices retreated below the $100-a-barrel mark, easing inflationary concerns. The increased crude export from West Asian suppliers and G7’s commitment to release 100 million barrels of crude oil have cooled off the surge in oil prices. However, investors were cautious as Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) continued to pull out capital from Indian markets. FIIs were the net sellers on Monday’s session, offloading securities worth Rs 4,699.14 crore. On the global front, Japanese yen has weakened against the US dollar on Tuesday despite Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s expansionary fiscal policies.

Finally, the rupee ended at 96.35 (Provisional), remained unchanged from its previous close of 96.35 on Monday. The currency touched a high and low of 96.45 and 96.29 respectively.
