Mayawati gives big blow to Congress, says no alliance with Rahul's party for states polls
Oct-03-2018

In a big blow to Congress's efforts to stitch maha gathbandhan before this year states elections and 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Bahujan Samaj Party said that BSP won't have alliance with Congress and will fight assembly elections in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh alone.

Hitting out at Congress, BSP supremo Mayawati said that Congress has a casteist mindset and some party leaders don't want alliance. Mayawati said leaders like Digvijaya Singh do not wish for a Congress- BSP alliance as they are afraid of investigating agencies like ED and CBI. She said that Digvijaya Singh, who is also a BJP agent, is giving statements that Mayawati has a lot of pressure from Centre so she doesn’t want this alliance. Mayawati said this is baseless.

However, she said that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi's intentions for Congress-BSP alliance are honest, but some Congress leaders are sabotaging their efforts for alliance. She further said that Congress are getting arrogant and are under misconception that they can defeat BJP on their own but the ground reality is that people haven't forgiven Congress party for their mistakes and corruption. She said they don't seem to be ready to rectify themselves.
