Campaigning for the 6th phase of assembly elections in WB to conclude this evening
Apr-19-2021

In the poll-bound West Bengal (WB), the campaign for the Sixth Phase of Assembly Elections will be concluded in this evening. In view of increasing cases of COVID-19, the Election Commission decided to cut down the campaign timing for the remaining three phases of eight-phase Assembly Elections. It also extended the Silence Period from 48 hours to 72 hours before polling for the remaining phases and as a result, the campaign will end this evening. In the Sixth Phase, total 306 candidates including 27 women will be competing for the 43 Assembly seats spread over 4 districts of WB going to polls in this phase on 22nd of April.

The election campaign has now gained momentum for the Seventh as well as the Eighth and Final Phase of the Assembly Elections. Seventh Phase and Eighth Phase of voting will be held on 26th and 29th of April 2021. The counting of votes will be taken up together on 2nd of May.
