Aurobindo Pharma recalls 88,600 vials of Lidocaine injections from US market

Aurobindo Pharma has initiated recall of 88,600 vials of Lidocaine HCI Injection, USP 1% 50 mg/5 mL (10 mg/mL) from USA market as one of the vials contained a strand of hair. According to a notification by the US Drug regulator, these vials were manufactured in India for AuroMedics Pharna LLC.

Lidocaine HCI injection is a medication used for local or regional anaesthesia to perform certain surgeries and procedures.

Aurobindo Pharma is engaged in manufacturing pharmaceutical products. It offers active pharmaceutical ingredients, intermediates and generic formulations like astemizole, domeperidone and omeprazole; anti-infective, oral and sterile antibiotics, pain management and osteoporosis segments.
